Pigeon buildup is one of those problems that gets ignored until it's really bad. The droppings pile up on pipes, overhangs, and ledges - spots that are hard to reach and easy to overlook. By the time most people call us, it's been sitting there long enough to harden, stain, and start working its way into the surface.
That's exactly what we were dealing with here. The pipes running along the exterior of this commercial building in Taylorsville had heavy accumulation caked on from top to bottom. The overhangs and upper corners were even worse - nesting debris, droppings, and years of buildup packed into tight spots that a standard rinse wouldn't touch.
Hot water is what makes the difference on jobs like this. Cold water pressure washing will move surface-level grime, but hardened bird droppings bond to surfaces differently. Heat breaks that bond. Combined with the right extension to reach the awkward angles around pipes and structural corners, we were able to get into every spot that needed attention without cutting corners.
Pigeon mess isn't just an eyesore. The acidity in droppings can break down exterior surfaces over time - brick, concrete, pipe coatings, all of it. Getting it cleaned off regularly is a maintenance decision, not just a cosmetic one. Commercial properties in particular see a lot of foot traffic and customer-facing exposure, so the exterior condition matters more than most people account for.
If your building has spots like this - pipes, ledges, overhangs, or anywhere pigeons like to roost - we know how to get to them and clean them right. Hot water, proper reach, and the experience to know what each surface needs.
